At the last DrupalCon in Denver, Colorado, we introduced the MultilingualWeb-LT project. Its thirteen core members and a multi-member W3C working group are working on a metadata standard for both multilingual CMS and language service providers, such as translation agencies. The goal is to help CMS and LSP systems integrate better. This way we want to help content providers across the world to reach more people across more languages.

Now, only a few months later, we’d like to present the progress we have made and discuss with the community about the possibilities the standard and project holds in the future. We will introduce some of the discussions surrounding the project (for example within is W3C working group), how the open-source communities can be involved and what is lying ahead.

But we also want to hear your feedback and comments about the project and trigger discussions about Drupal’s multilingual capabilities.
