DrupalCon Training: Drupal Powered E-Commerce

Jul 13 2012

One of the many great applications of Drupal is E-Commerce. If you’ve ever built or managed an online store, you know that choosing the right framework can make a huge difference in your workload. From managing products to issuing refunds, e-commerce sites prove to be a challenge, even for experienced developers.

If you want to learn Drupal Commerce, you won't want to miss Commerce Guy's pre-conference training session on August 20 focused on e-commerce with Drupal 7.

Drupal Commerce is the fastest growing E-Commerce framework built on Drupal 7, Rules, and Views. It allows you to modify and customize every aspect of the online shopping experience.

This training is structured to provide both lessons and hands-on experience with Drupal Commerce. In this one day training, you will build an example store, walking through all the features the core modules provide:

  • Configuring multiple types of products with product attributes and customizations
  • Customizing Add to Cart forms, Shopping Cart views, and the Checkout form
  • Granting discounts and calculating taxes through Rules
  • Collecting and tracking payment of various methods

Having a real-world point of reference for the training definitely helps to bring clarity and specific business-case applicability to the lessons learned, and allows you to ask pointed questions that give you an even deeper grasp of the technology."

I can also add that while the main lessons will be taught in English, we will have Peter Philipp from Cando Image with us to assist during the exercise times in German. I suppose that makes this our second DrupalCon training in a row with native language speakers... if I can count DrupalCon London. ; )
