Drupal as IPTV Platform - Drupalize.Me Case Study on Delivering Videos to iOS/Android/Roku/AppleTV Platforms

This session will focus on how Drupalize.Me built a video delivery system for its iPhone, iPad, Android and TV apps. We will discuss how Drupal, with the help of some contrib modules, can be used to build a Netflix-like video delivery system.

We will demo Drupalize.Me, a paid-access video website that can serve videos to the desktop, mobile, or television-based devices. We'll show how videos can be paused and resumed across multiple platforms, e.g., you start watching a video on your laptop at work and then you can resume it (where you left at work) on your iPad app on your way home, and then can finish it on your Roku box at home. Video position will be saved across all devices using the magic of Drupal.

We will list contrib and custom modules used on Drupalize.Me, as well as discuss many challenges that arose during this project and how we have solved them. We will also discuss the tool selection for programming the iOS, Android, Roku Apps, and the pros and cons of native and hybrid solutions. We'll discuss our video delivering system for iOS, Android and TV platforms using wowza and amazon s3.

Interesting! I guess I am going on this session!

This sounds like it really belongs in the Site Building track, not coding.
