What's Next?

The 2013 year is shaping up to be packed with Drupal fun as we embark on the Asia Pacific region with DrupalCon Sydney from February 6-9, 2013. Followed just around the corner with North America's DrupalCon Portland from May 20-24, 2013, and rounding out the year with a glorious return to Europe at DrupalCon Prague in September 2013.

DrupalCon Munich Day 1 Wrap-up and What to Expect Day 2

DrupalCon Munich 2012 Day 1 was a resounding success with plenty of food and an overflow of information for all. It started out with a very welcoming introduction by Jam and Robert Douglass, complete with accordian playing and a yodeling lesson!

Day 1 Keynote

The Day 1 Keynote was project lead Dries Buytaert, providing a State of Drupal address and an overview of Drupal 8 via a sit down interview-style presentation with Josh Koenig. Watch the presentation in it's entirety.

DrupalCon Munich is both an educational event and a celebration of all things Drupal. Be sure to take advantage of all the fun stuff happening all week long! If you are signed up to attend, you should have recently received a final attendee email with additional details on all of this and more.

If you aren't yet registered, you have until end of day Friday, August 17! There are only a few tickets available!

Call for volunteers - we need you on Saturday!

Will you be in Munich early and have some free time on Saturday afternoon Aug 18 from 1-5? We could use your help stuffing registration packets. It's a fun and easy job and it's a great way to get to know new people before the Con! Sign up to volunteer for this or other jobs throughout the week.

Special breakfast pricing for all attendees at the Sheraton and Westin

The Sheraton and Westin Grand will offer their hotel breakfast (Full Breakfast) at special pricing throughout DrupalCon Munich. Details: The Westin breakfast can be found in the ZEN Restaurant. The Sheraton breakfast is held in Restaurant 66. Pricing will be 15 EUR per person per day (the normal rate is 29 EUR at the Westin and 23 EUR at the Sheraton). This offer is good for the whole week: Monday, August 20 until Friday, August 24 and open to all DrupalCon attendees regardless of whether you are staying at the hotel or not.

Tropo Drupal Hackathon on Monday

The Drupal Hackathon takes place on Monday, August 20th from 3-9pm. RSVP required because seats are limited, but there is time to join in even after trainings. No entry fee and it includes dinner! All registered attendees are invited to come join the fun!

Those who attended DrupalCon Denver may remember the great little badgelettes Lindsay Ogden and Aten Design created. They were personalized and a great conference keepsake! Well, we’re bringing the badgelettes to Munich with help from our design partners at Cocomore. To make sure they’re as amazing as possible, we need your help!

Please take a moment and fill out your drupal.org profile with the necessary information we need to create your badge: Your first and last name, company/organization name and claim to fame (speaker, sponsor, volunteer, and DA member).

We apologize for the formalities, but getting this information from you now helps ensure a smooth check-in experience when you arrive at the conference *and* a slick looking badgelette. DrupalCon Training: Building Multilingual Websites in Drupal 7

In an increasingly global world, Drupal core's support for multilingual content has made it a favorite CMS among large organizations. Despite that, Drupal site-builders and developers are often stumped by the myriad of possible approaches and tricks involved in making it work. Over the last few months, Evolving Web has worked together with Acquia to put together a multilingual site building course, called Building Multilingual Websites with Drupal 7 will be presented at DrupalCon Munich on August 20. It will walk you through the process step by step and unfuddle much of the complexity.

In the last year, documentation of multilingual modules and core functionality have improved, with more documentation pages on Drupal.org and even a book on the subject by Kristin Pol. However, site builders, have so many complex decisions that setting up a multilingual site for the first time can be bewildering.

This full day of training on , and will cover a wide variety of topics including:

Setting up a Multilingual Drupal installation
Using different methods of content translation
